Competitions
The Competitions add-on allows administrators to run in-house Competitions and tournaments such as box leagues, Ladders and points Competitions allowing entrants to enter their own results and follow the Competition's progress online.
"Can we run box leagues?"
Yes! Box leagues are a round-robin Competition where each player/ team play all others within their division. There is no limit to the number of divisions within each Box League. Entrants can enter their own scores and see the current progress of the Competition online.
"Can we track our races?"
Points leagues are PERFECT for races! You can assign points based on where each person/ team finishes, and add different events across the league to find your winner. You can also include penalty points into the calculations.
"What about ladder competitions?"
Ladders operate by letting players challenge each other to climb the Ladder, striving to be at the top of the Ladder by the end of the Competition. Until a challenge is complete (by either entering a result or the play by or schedule deadline being passed) neither particpant in the challenge can be challenged or challenge another participant. You can see a history of challenges and results, and the current state of the Ladder, as well as the top performers in the last 7 days and overall.
"What about Knockouts?"
Knockout competitions are a traditional competition format where winners progress through the competition, and the losers are knocked out. Email reminders can be sent when the round deadline is approaching if matches have not been played, as well as emails to notify when you have an opponent to play in a new round. A consolation draw can be automatically generated for those who lose in the first round.
"Can we charge entrants to enter the Competitions?"
Entrants to Competitions can be entered manually, imported from a Member List, or imported from an Event. Use an Event if you wish to charge members for their entrance to the tournament, whichever type of Competition it is.
"Are Competitions just for individuals?"
No, Competition entrants can be either teams or individuals. Teams can be made up of 2 or more people (members or guests), who can also be assigned into roles within the team.
