myClubhouse, Release Notes
Last updated: Friday, January 1, 2021
The next major version upgrade of myClubhouse is now ready for release. The major new features and notable improvements are listed below. As with all releases, this one includes a number of other small enhancements and bug fixes.
-
Competitions Module:
The headline feature for this release is the new Competitions module. The module supports the creation of competitions, assignment of entries by administrators, and the recording and display of results. As it stands, this feature supports box leagues (round-robin), ladders, knockout draws, and Formula-1-style points league competitions. Future releases will add athletics-style, heats-based competitions. Multi-stage competitions will also be supported; for example, where a box league leads to a knockout involving the winners of each box.
-
Booking System Improvements:
We have a number of big improvements slated for the booking system. More details on these will be released soon.
-
Improved CMS Module:
The CMS module has had a big list of imporovemtns added to it to increase its abilities and capabilities to help you make your pages the way you want them to be! Here are some of the imporvements:
- Copy CMS pages:
- Multiple carousels: You can now have different carousels on different pages rather than them sharing the same central pool of images.
- Parallax backgrounds.
- Device specific components: Flag elements to control whether they are displayed on mobiles, tablets and/or desktops.
- Padding around images.
- Cut/copy/paste of blocks and elements.
- Framing options for images.
- Add click links to images.
- Add alt text to images and advert components.
- Stack multiple elements in CMS columns.
- Add padding at the top of blocks.
- Added Markdown components: Similar to text components, but using Markdown syntax for formatting the content.
-
Off Session Charging: If a member has a GoCardless mandate or saved credit/debit card through Stripe on the system, administrators can charge their account for Subscriptions. This can be useful around renewal time if your club has rules about giving notice about not renewing membership.
-
Ad-hoc Charges: Create charges for users without it having to be a shop product, Subscritpion, or Event sign-up. This is especially useful for imposing fines from matches.
-
Folders in File Manager: Images within the File Manager can now be arranged and sorted into folders to make them easier to manage.
-
Use Refunds as Credits: You can now adjust your site's settings so that members can use refunds as credits on future purchases rather than receiving a refund through the original payment method. This can save you admin time for manual payment methods like cash and BACS, and save money on fees from refunding through Stripe or GoCardless.
-
Contact Us Enquiry Options: When prospective and existing members use the contact form on the Contact Us page, you can now configure different categories that will be sent to different members so that the enquiries go to the relevant person.
-
EPOS Module: myClubhouse is now integrated with eposnow so that members can pay for items from myClubhouse in person, or top-up their balance to pay for items at the till. This could be used in a bar or shop at your club, or at reception.
-
New Events Calendar Pagination: The pagination controls on the Events Calendar are now dates to make it easier to find both past and future Events.
-
Duplicate Users Tool: Users re-registering themselves on your site can cause problems and requires merging or deleting to fix issues that can occur. The new duplicate users tool makes it easy to track down duplicate users using the Surname and first initial fields.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about any of these features.
